It started with Numatic's glorious pro vacuum cleaner to which they then added the now famous smiling face and called him Henry. Henry actually has modified the face of cleaning and is now Europe's favourite pro machine,

Going from strength to strength and now better than ever seen. When a product works so well, and proves to be so trustworthy, why change things?

Well, Numatic's policy of successive product development sees an ever better Henry for 2006 with a more user-friendly switch layout, a buffer ring ( - to guard your furniture and fittings ) and a mixed exhaust grille, now at the rear, giving improved airflow and an even quieter operation.

Reviews:

Well, what am I able to say? This is my forth vac in the last 6 years, my last being a Dyson upright ( over twice the cost of this ), which was too heavy and inclined to munch up my carpet. Don't fall for Dyson, that is all I am going to say. As for this small corker, where do I start? I'd known about Henry before as he is appeared in most offices I have worked in and shops I have shopped in.

Do not be fooled by his size, colour and kid like smile - Henry isn't playing. After much thought over which type to get ( having two very hairy cats ) I selected the regular HVR200-22. The '-22' is crucial as this is the most recent 1200w version with Howdy / Lo switch. The great thing is the main floor tool / brush sucks from each side so room corners are handled quickly.

OK, a touch more hard work now but this is because a have quite a deep pile. ) however I have ordered separately an 'Airo' brush ( also in red with a lovable grin ) which seemingly is acceptable for most Henry types, so remember you can always add an additional at a later date if you find you want to. Cat hair - no problem, went over it once, not a trace left. And eventually, I gave it a try quickly on the lino in my loo, and as with the wood floors, no problem. It's so quiet ( even more so on the seventy percent 'Lo' setting ) - the cats don't run away.

In reality, at one time I believed it'd lost it's suction because there wasn't much noise coming from the end of the hose. I haven't attempted all the tools, but I quickly attempted the crevice tool for clearing up some pussy litter.

Once you have taken the main hose off, blimey, then you feel it's power. This could be an amazing all rounder and I believe he is gonna be with me for a long long time. When you take him out of his box, he is all set to go.

When I required a vacuum cleaner, I failed to at first consider a Henry. It is like a cross between a particularly basic 1970s vacuum cleaner and a merchandising tie-in with an old youngsters's Television program. The journeys of Henry and Hettie, CBBC, Thursdays at 4:30pm, or something similar to that. No pet hair remover tool ( I possess a lot of hair and shed like a pack of long-haired dogs, except the hair is up to 2 feet long ). So an underpowered, expensive kids's toy vacuum cleaner with primitive technology. I asked on a forum I use and all but 2 folks commended Henry. Folk with more money than they knew what to do with were advising Henry.

Builders were asserting that they used Henry to wash up plaster, wood chips, brick dust, even dry sand, anything at all. It's fine on the 600W setting, employing a 3rd of the power of standard vacuum cleaners.

The airflow is larger than the 2KW vacuum cleaner I borrowed. No HEPA sure there's, just use the HEPAflo bags. No pet hair tool noSne required, the standard head will simply get hair off carpets. I wanted ear protection with a few of them. You will have a conversation whilst employing a Henry.

My last Henry has lasted an amazing 20 years during which time he took many knocks and falls that would have annihilated most other machines.

He has managed to consume huge amount of builders related mess and ordinary household dust and items. The dust bag is two times the size found in lots of other machines, so barely ever needs changing ; and the machine could be operated without a dust bag if needed.

So I have no hesitation in giving this machine a five star rating. At the beginning of the year the model was upgraded to HVR200-22 ( i.e. Beware several companies are still attempting to sell the old 1100w version - hence their 'special / promotional' costs. The machine is available too in Blue, Green and Yellow.
